Across London:  The Making of Series 1.

Series 1:  Programme 1:  Westminster.

It was at 3:00pm on Saturday 11 June 2006 the temperature was 75 Degrees Farenheit and quite Humid.  I arrive on  Westminster Bridge, London.  I set up the Digital Video camera, a run through of checking White balance settings on the Digital Video camera.  Then at 3:15pm  the chimes of Big Ben sound.  Filming then begins.  There is no script as at the time of filming I have to film for 4 Minutes, 45 Seconds and do the narration live as the programme is being made.  The Sun is shining so brightly by now and filming Big Ben to start with is quite difficult as the Sun is reflecting on the main clockface, but is filmed anyway.  Next I film people walking over Westminster Bridge, London, then I mention in the narration about County Hall, Westminster, London, the River Thames which is also filmed as well as the House of Parliament and Parliament Green, London plus Waterloo, London.  By 3:20pm  filming is complete.  Then I walk back to Victoria station, London then I get on a train view the footage.  Then later I record the Titles and  programme to the duration of 4 Minutes, 45 Seconds onto a Recordable DVD.  Then the programme was uploaded to the CASTPOST server and the programme is then available to be shown on The London Channel.

Series 1, Programme 2:
Heathrow, London.

It was 4:00am on Sunday 11 June 2006, there is a vibrant Pink Sunrise and I am travelling on a N9 Night bus from Trafalgar Square, London, the early start means that I am rather bleary eyed at that time in the Morning following no sleep that night.  At 4:45am  I set up the Digital Video camera and check for White balance, by now the N9 Night bus is in Hounslow, West London.  Then at exactly 5:00am and whilst still on the N9 Night bus I film and narrate the opening scenes of the programme, the N9 Night bus has pulled into Heathrow Airport, London and I film the passengers on the N9 Night bus, I then film and mention the N9 Night bus and the bus station at Heathrow Airport, London in the narration.  After that I film and mention the Control Tower, Heathrow Airport, London in the narration.  Then I film and mention The Queen's Building at Heathrow Airport, London and film inside the building, a quite hilarious scene of a women running from one end of the corridor to the other is captured on the footage.  Then I film outside the Car park of Terminal 1 and inside Terminal 1 and a young man is sleeping on a bench and I mention that in the narration and about people who sleep at Heathrow Airport, London in the early Morning.  Then I film and mention the shops inside Terminal 1 in the narration including a mention of the Airport staff in the narration.  Then I go to the Terminal 1 Car Park and film and mention it the narration then a car drives up into the car park.  It is now 5:30am and the next scenes have to be filmed.  I walk up to the top of the Terminal 1 Car park roof, no one else is up there except me, I film the Heathrow Airport main Radar, this causes slight interference of the sound on the narration of the programme as a slight buzzing sound.  Nevertheless then I film and mention the Airplanes in the narration.  An Airplane then flies into Heathrow Airport, London and
then I mention it in the narration and those were the last scenes filmed.

Then at 5:45am  I sit down on a metal bench outside the Queen's Building, Heathrow Airport, London and view back the footage.  Everything was filmed perfectly and the proposed 9 Minutes, 45 Seconds is then reached in realtime.  I am pleased with the result.  Then I go to Terminal 1 again and I then have some well earned Breakfast then a further long walk around the airport by now it is 6:30am and the Sun is very strong by now and temperatures are at least 65 Degrees Farenheit and very Humid.  At 7:30am I then travel on the Piccadilly Line where there was Engineering work being carried out on part of the Piccadilly Line and I arrive at the Hounslow East Underground Station, West London and I then catch a bus to Kingston, Surrey by then it was 9:00am and again look back at the footage of Heathrow Airport, London just to make sure I made the programme correctly.

The next Tuesday 13 June 2006, I then record the programme onto a Recordable DVD and then the following Sunday 18 June 2006 it was uploaded to the CASTPOST server and then shown on The London Channel on Monday 19 June 2006 and was shown for approximately two weeks, but only some of the programme was  the programme is uploaded to the CASTPOST server, it was then on Sunday 9 July 2006 and a second half of programme is made as a seperate programme is edited using the beginning N9 Night bus introduction then after that scenes of Terminal 1 which is halfway through until the Airplane is landing at the end of the programme then the end titles appear, this is then known as Programme 2B, Series 1 and it's duration was the remaining 4 Minutes, 45 Seconds of the programme.

Series 1: Programme 3, Wimbledon, London SW19.

It was at 8:30pm on a warm Monday Evening 26 June 2006 and I arrived at the Wimbledon Tennis Courts, London SW19.  Then at 8:45pm  I did one final check on the White balance on the Digital Video Camera, then started filming the first scenes which showed a small crowd of Men and Women who had been camping with their tents pitched on the pavements all of them were in the spirits of Wimbledon Tennis.  Then I film some of the people who had been to watch the Wimbledon Tennis Championships 2006 and I mention it in the programme.  I then film across the road and there are some merchandise stalls which I mention.  A Silver Wimbledon Tennis Championships car goes by and I mention that it is for the Wimbledon staff personel, soon after a Wimbledon Tennis Bus goes by and I mention it in the programme.  Then it was on to a nearby park called Cannizaro Park in Wimbledon, South-West London and I mention it it the programme.  Then I film a Burger van and mention it in the programme.  After that I then film a Routemaster Bus parked with a few other buses for the Wimbledon Tennis Championships and mention them in the programme, then it was time to film the last scenes which were of the Wimbledon Tennis Courts in Wimbledon, South-West London and there is security there and other people who have come to look at the well-know Tennis courts, I mention them in the programme.  Then at about 9:00pm I check back the footage on the Digital Video Camera and I was pleased with the result.  The Across London:  Wimbledon, London SW19 programme was transmitted on The London Channel in August 2006 and shown until September 2006 for the first time around.  Series 1: Programme 4 will appear here in Autumn 2006.
